This may NOT be your VirtualPBX phone number. Must be a mobile number that can receive verification text.
Now that your business and contact have been identified, it's time to submit your intended use case for business. This improves the deliverability of your messages and ensures compliance with federal and state regulations.
This defaults to UCaaS Low Volume as the recommended use. VirtualPBX Business SMS is designed to be used as a business phone number that allows SMS communications on a conversational level.
If you wish to do SMS-based outbound marketing, please get in touch with our Sales team for assistance with VirtualText Pro.
If your company falls into another use case, select the appropriate use case, and our team will review the registration information to provide guidance.
Businesses must obtain explicit permission via an opt-in process to send SMS messages to customers. Customers must actively and knowingly provide consent to receive texts. The process typically involves texting a keyword, checking a box, and receiving a confirmation message. Opt-out instructions must also be provided and honored. Obtaining proper opt-in consent is a legal requirement that builds trust with customers.
VirtualText supports using keywords to manage Opt-In. Below are suggested examples for the common keywords such as SUBSCRIBE, HELP and STOP.
Note: The Keyword STOP can not be modified.
The Opt-Out keyword may not be customized at this time.
The following special use cases may apply to your business. Mobile carriers require compliance with the rules and regulations around these uses of SMS messaging. You can learn more about the following questions on our FAQ and the
guidelines provided by the CTIA.
CTIA's SHAFT regulations for SMS in North America prohibit certain types of content, categorizing and regulating text messages based on legal and moral issues. This includes restricting messages with depictions of violence, profanity, and hate speech. SMS messages containing adult or sexual content, alcohol, firearms, or tobacco use can be sent legally but require an age-gate to verify that recipients are over 21.
Mobile carriers require sample messages to verify your use case and help with the deliverability of your messages.
